Local rock-legends & revered groove-merchants ethanol are putting on an enticing show for the more discerning lovers of live original music on August 21st when they perform a double-header with the abundantly talented: Jord Allen & The Shady Lanes.
Funk-rock fans will be pleased to know ethanol are soon to begin work on album number three, scheduled for release early in the new year. Their 2002 self-titled debut CD & their 2007 release Out Of The Red are available for purchase locally at J’s Music City (33 View St, Bendigo), Roundabout Music (339 Hargreaves St, Bendigo) as well as High On Music (109 High St, Kangaroo Flat).
The August 21st double-header will not only showcase some of the songs to be recorded for ethanol’s next album, it will also be an opportunity for locals to witness the latest progress of one of Bendigo Region’s brightest up & coming stars: Jord Allen. This young singer/songwriter has an impressive stage presence & even more impressive ability to twist & turn a soulful melody & heartfelt lyric to a degree that should not be possible for one so young & fresh-faced. Jord is very ably backed by the incredible talents of The Shady Lanes, comprising of: Josh DeAraugo on drums, Jack Michael on keys & Jacob McGuffie on bass.
This dynamite show will be hosted by the Newmarket Hotel (133 Charleston Road, Bendigo) & is a “can’t miss†for those who are looking for classy, affordable, live musical entertainment.
The door charge is only $5- (less than the cost of most of the drinks one can get over any bar) & the show kicks off from 9:30pm sharp.
PS – for those of you who’ll be in Melbourne on Friday September 4th, ethanol make their return to the Esplanade hotel, St Kilda, as part of a four-band show in the Espy’s Basement Bar. Kick off is 8pm, entry is free!
